The Ghosthoods of Fragile City
Using Fragile City’s cheesecloth pieces and other materials, some of these solar prints depict individual structures, while others form spectral neighborhoods. Reflecting on the invisible presence of neighbors and local shops that had to leave because they could no longer afford to pay their rents.
Similar to photograms, these solar prints intersect cameraless photography with monoprints: the ghosthoods are made by painting light-sensitive liquid on handmade cotton paper, assembling objects on it, then exposing them to sunlight.
